Established in late 2023, Lab of Future Technology (LFT) is a key platform dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship education at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou). Equipped with world-class research facilities and advanced experimental spaces, LFT covers cutting-edge fields such as autonomous robotics, advanced materials, intelligent manufacturing, smart sensing, and health technologies.
As the primary research base for faculty members from the College of Future Technology (CFT) conducting Pillar Projects, LFT provides substantial support for the teaching and research activities of the Redbird MPhil (RBM) program, exemplifying a seamless integration of high-level academic research with practical applications.
To further enhance the depth and breadth of innovation and entrepreneurship education under the RBM framework, LFT has launched the Bridge Program since 2024. Aligned closely with RBM’s educational philosophy, the Bridge Program is committed to cultivating globally-minded technology innovators and entrepreneurial pioneers. It promotes students’ comprehensive abilities and transferable skills, facilitating their transformation into impactful entrepreneurial successes.
By creating a platform that simulates a real business environment for RBM graduates and students, the Bridge Program breaks through traditional boundaries of research-based master’s education. It establishes a distinctive entrepreneurial ecosystem, fostering deep integration between theoretical knowledge and practical experience. This dynamic environment empowers students to efficiently translate their research outcomes into innovative products, paving the way for meaningful entrepreneurial achievements.
