Dongfu LI​

Dr. Dongfu LI holds a PhD in Economics and Business Finance from the University of Macau and is a Senior Engineer in Technology Transfer and Commercialization. He currently serves as Director of the Research Office at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) [HKUST(GZ)]. He also leads the research team for Accelerating the Development of the Embodied Intelligence Industry, a major research project commissioned by the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and the Guangzhou Municipal Government.

Previously, Dr. LI served as Assistant Director of the Fok Ying Tung Research Institute of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Director of its Research Office, as well as Deputy Director of the University of Macau’s research institute in Zhuhai.

His research focuses on the efficiency and performance evaluation of university research management and technology transfer, as well as financing and investment activities of start-ups. He has published multiple academic papers in international journals, including the Journal of Corporate Finance.

With extensive experience in managing university-affiliated industrial technology research institutes in Hong Kong and Macao, Dr. LI is committed to advancing research collaboration, technology transfer, and commercialization across Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. He has also contributed to the establishment of the Guangdong–Hong Kong Universities “1+1+1” Joint Funding Scheme jointly launched by HKUST(GZ), The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province.
