Zhiqiang LU

Mr. Zhiqiang LU is currently responsible for the promotion and commercialization of applied research outcomes and patents at the Fok Ying Tung Research Institute. He also oversees the operation and management of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao (International) Youth Innovation Hub and the Technology Transfer and Commercialization Base of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), as well as the organizing committee for the Guangzhou Regional Competition of the HKUST One Million Dollar International Entrepreneurship Competition.

Prior to joining the Institute, Mr. LU worked with multinational corporations, a national-level research and technology transfer institution, and start-ups, accumulating more than 20 years of experience in technology marketing and investor engagement. He was involved in the commercialization of key incubation projects at Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), the development of an industry-academia-research collaboration platform at the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI), and several major technology commercialization and spin-off projects. He has also supported multiple start-ups in securing seed-stage financing.

Mr. LU holds a Bachelor of Business degree from Monash University in Australia. He has extensive knowledge and insight into technology trends and product commercialization across information technology, the Internet of Things, semiconductors, advanced materials, intelligent manufacturing, and biomedical technologies. He has also been recognized as a Specially Appointed Technology Transfer Broker by the Guangzhou Alliance for Innovation in Technology Transfer Services and serves as an Entrepreneurship Mentor at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao (International) Youth Innovation Hub.
